Presidents Message
January 2006
Dennis Coplen

Hello Everyone,

I am very happy to have been chosen to serve as your president for 2006. I am also thrilled to be working with the new and returning board members, committee heads, volunteers, and members to bring you a great year filled with activities. Our 2006 board looks like this:

President:  Dennis Coplen
Vice President:  Carl Swan
Secretary:  Barb Coplen
Treasurer:  Eric Breidenbach
Directors-at-Large:  Jim Bell and Steve Downing
Past President: Dennis Rood

For January, we have our winter Driver’s Skills day on Saturday the 7th. This is a great opportunity to get out and hone your skills in adverse weather conditions. Maybe we’ll have snow again. Just contact Jana Swan to see if there is space left. Our Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet is on Saturday the 28th. This is a good time to get dressed up and enjoy the company of fellow club members. You’ll meet the new board and have the opportunity to thank the committee chairs. The special recognition awards, such as Enthusiast of the Year, Novice of the Year, etc. are presented at this event. Please get your dinner choices and payments to Nancy Rood as soon as you can.

Also, I believe Porsche will be unveiling its new Cayman S coupe at the local dealers this month.  Make sure to stop by and check out the new addition to the Porsche stable. I think the Cayman S looks even better in person than in the photos we have all seen.

We just held the 2006 event planning meeting and August is going to turn out to be a very active month. With the Porsche Parade in Portland (August 6-11) and Whistler the weekend after (August 18-20), Zone 6 is playing host to the two largest Porsche Club events in the country! That works out perfectly for our region, as we are geographically located right between the two. It is not too early to be thinking ahead. Registration for Parade opens on March 10, so check the Parade website at http://www.pca.org/parade/ for details.

We have added most of the 2006 activities to the calendars in the Spiel and on the website, (http://www.pnwr.org). Be sure to mark your calendars! I am looking forward to a very exciting and fully packed season.

On an administrative note, we have volunteer openings for Concours Chair, Charity Chair and for a Goodie Store liaison. If you would like to help out please let one of the board members know.
