February 2006
Hello Everyone,
Even though it seems the middle of winter as
I’m writing this (actually it’s the beginning of January complete
with gray skies and rain), the club calendar isn’t bare. We have
several events happening in February.
If you have ever considered participating in Autocross, then
February 18th is the time to get started. The
annual Autocross Practice event at the Bremerton Motorsports Park is
perfect for newcomers to learn the ropes and for the veterans to
remove the rust. It is a free event for club members! No need to
register, just show up and have fun.
There is a lunchtime social “bull session” on
February 26th at the Red Hook Brewery in Woodinville.
This is a great winter activity that will have everyone talking
about the new season. Arrive early and help save some seats.
Remember the 2006 Porsche Parade registration
opens on March 10th this year. So, start planning now.
They say that online registration will be open to those members with
logins to the PCA national website. If you plan to register
electronically, make sure to get your login set up early, as it
takes a while to complete the process. Details for login creation
are on the PCA national website (http://www.pca.org).
Otherwise you can register by mail starting the same day. I hope to
see everyone in Portland this August.
Has anyone thought about the annual TSD rally
that is held each year at the Parade?
We have talked with the federation of local
rally clubs and they would be thrilled to have us participate in
their monthly “Friday Nighter” series. The events are held on the
second Friday of each month, and start from the Eastgate Park-n-Ride
at 6:45pm. They are low cost and only last about two hours each. A
fun Friday night activity, plus you will get knowledge and practice
for the Parade in August. The Northwest Rally Council website is
http://www.nwrally.com.
Make sure to check your Spiel calendars and the website,
http://www.pnwr.org,
for the most up-to-date information and last minute changes.
