February 2007
Hello Porsche Fans,
As I write this it is early January and this winter has been challenging weather-wise. Our house (which faces South) looks as if has been through a sand storm. The water and wind has literally blasted the paint off our siding. Oh, well....put another item on the "to do" list for warmer weather later in the year.
As February starts we can see Spring just peeking out on the horizon. That doesn’t mean there’s nothing going on, though.
We’re starting the autocross season with our annual practice session on February 17th. If you have always wanted to try autocrossing but have been intimidated to come out in mid-season, now is your chance to come out and learn the ropes without any pressure. This session is designed not only allow veterans to scrub off the rust before the season begins, but to show novices the ropes. All first-timers will learn the autocross process and will have the opportunity to run with an instructor if they wish.
A little later in the month, we have a special treat. The Hart Auto Collection will be opening their doors for us to hold a fund raising event on the 24th. The event proceeds will go to the Western Washington University Vehicle Research Institute. These students work extremely hard with very little funding. They are competing with programs with several times their budget. Come on out, be social, and help an amazing program.
On Sunday the 25th we have a Bull Session out at Red Hook brewery. These informal lunch sessions are always a lot of fun. Show up early and help us save some seats.
I’m looking forward to some drier and calmer weather...come on Summer!
