concour image 1THE VISION

To hold a classic Concours de'Elegance in the Northwest specifically for automobiles of European origin. Our goal is to provide a classic setting for classic automobiles, one that will provide a showcase for these mobile works of art. Our secondary goal is to raise funds for a worthy non-profit organization. We have again chosen Washington Distributive Education Clubs of America as the beneficiary of our efforts this year. Last years event was a great success in large part due to the hard work that the young people of DECA contributed.

OUR CHARITY
Distributive Education Clubs of America

Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) is a non-profit organization that works with the schools in our area to teach leadership and marketing skills to our youth. Many of you may have heard of DECA and may even have been involved with the organization during you High School days or may have had children or grandchildren involved. This is a worthy non-profit organization in that it contributes greatly to the personal growth of so many of our young people.

Many of our business leaders have made statements similar to that of Robert Matthews, Director of Advertising for Nintendo of America,

“DECA has had a profound impact on my life. The life skills I learned as a DECA student and officer are the same skill I use each day in business. I attribute much of my success to my involvement with DECA.”

Unfortunately, like many things in our cash strapped society, DECA needs funds to continue to build the future leader of business and our country. You can be assured that the funds raised through this event will be put to excellent use.

Chateau Ste. MichelleLOCATION

Chateau Ste. Michelle is located in Woodinville, just minutes from Bellevue and Seattle, Washington. Chateau Ste. Michelle, styled after a French Chateau, is the home of Washington’s largest winery. With its acres of manicured gardens, it is a very fitting site one of the most appropriate sites for a Concours d'Elegance in the Pacific Northwest.

The concours site is located on the southwest side of the winery where concerts of major recording artists are staged each summer. The winery will be open for tours during the event, as will the tasting rooms. This is the only automotive event that Chateau Ste. Michelle has held in over a decade and will most likely be the only one allowed in the future. The winery is also one of the Top Ten Tourist Attractions in the greater Seattle area. Directions to the Winery: PDF

In addition to the Ste. Michelle Winery, Red Hook Breweries is located almost directly across the street. If you are coming in from out of town, do not miss this opportunity to tour both Ste. Michelle and Red Hook.

THE EVENT

The Concours de Elegance at Chateau Ste. Michelle is open to any automobile manufactured in Europe. This includes cars manufactured by European carmakers, but assembled in the United States. concour image 2We have room for approximately 225 cars. Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Cars will be judged by marque, marque winners will be rejudged for final honors. Classes will be grouped by year (pre-1940, 1941 to 1950, etc.) Each group will be awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place. We will also have a Best of Show Award as well as a Peoples Choice Award.

Car placement will begin at 8 a.m. and close promptly at 9:30 a.m. The presentation of awards will begin at approximately 2 p.m.

ENTERTAINMENT

New this year is the addition of live Jazz music during the event. This should add another level of enjoyment for everyone attending this year's event.

ALCOHOL

concour image 3Wine will be available for purchase in the Gift Store at the Northwest Corner of the Concours Site. Chateau Ste. Michelle has won more international awards for it wines than any other winery in the Northwest, so you will not be disappointed. Obviously, we request that you drink responsibly. The Washington State Liquor Control Board prohibits bringing any alcoholic beverages onto the Ste. Michelle site.

Special Notice: Please be advised that all vehicles entering the event may be checked for alcoholic beverages, as well as will back packs, picnic baskets, etc. Again, this is regulated by the State of Washington and we are required to comply.

FOOD

We are pleased to offer an outstanding gourmet lunch prepared by the Winery. Dine with the concour judges and special guests in a private dining room adjacent to the Concours site. There are 50 spots available for purchase at $50 per person. Lunch is provided courtesy of I-5 Motors for our judges and selected guests.

You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the beautiful ground of the winery. There is also a gift shop inside the winery that sells an excellent assortment of cheese, crackers, etc. as well as wine. Again, please be advised that you will not be allowed to bring in outside liquor of any kind to the site.
