Driver Education Registration

Registration and Tech Inspection Forms

Eligibility

These criteria establish who may register for a PNWR/PCA Driver ation event. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission.

  • All PNWR/PCA DE events are open only to members of PCA, Alfa, Audi, BMWCCA, Corvette, Mini, PDC, and Viper Club in good standing only; we check this at the gate. You must provide your membership card number for registration.
  • You must possess a full, non-restricted driver's license of any jurisdiction, and be 18 years or older.
  • Approved Instructors may register for any event prior to the instructor's closing date.
  • Snell Memorial Foundation 2000 or later helmet is required; M or SA rating is acceptable. SA is recommended for increased fire protection. A limited supply of loaner helmets are available for a fee.
  • You may bring any safe car passing the technical inspection requirements, including non-Porsches (convertibles may need additional roll-over protection). Remember, the owner and/or operator is responsible for the safe condition and operation of the vehicle. There are a few rules & regulations you need to heed too.
  • Students not yet signed-off to drive without an instructor (includes beginners) must pre-register so we can assign you an available instructor - this means no walk-in beginners.
  • Participants must follow any rules or instructions announced at the event's Driver Meeting.  Violation may result in a warning, or expulsion from the event for serious violations.

PCA Member Prioritization

All entries are prioritized based on postmark date of the payment or application, whichever is later (register as early as possible to assure yourself a spot). PCA members have an earlier registration Opening Date and thus receive preference for a short period. Once registration opens for all entrants, it's first-come, first-serve until each run group fills. We reserve the right to set capacity limits and limit entries.

Newcomers to a PNWR DE Event

All first-time drivers (or if over two years) at a PNWR DE event, regardless of experience at other tracks or clubs, are to attend the Ground School training class prior to the event. This required 2-hour classroom training session is included in the price of the DE event. Its intent is to prepare entrants for track driving and what to except. Members of other clubs who have not participated in a PNWR DE event must attend the PNWR Ground School to become familiar with our practices.

All beginners will drive with an instructor until certified to drive solo. You must pre-register, as we need to assign you an instructor prior to the event. If you meet the eligibility rules above, fill out a registration form, get a technical inspection before the event, and come to the Ground School training course. We will confirm your acceptance, wait-listing, or other status upon receipt of your registration. We use email for this, so be sure to include your email address.

Registration Fees

Our events have PCA membership opening dates, All other opening dates, and closing dates indicated below and on the registration form.

  • Participants must register online or mail in their form between those two dates or it will be declined.
  • Approved Instructors may register for any event prior to the instructor's closing date.

Your registration funds are due at the time of online registration, or within 7 days, if mailed separately. If not paid online and not received within 7 days of registration your spot will be forfeited.

You will receive an email confirmation as to whether you are accepted or placed on a waiting list shortly after registration. If you do not receive confirmation, please email the registrar to confirm your entry.

Beginners or returning students not signed-off to solo must pre-register in order to be assigned an instructor.

Run Group Classification

We place drivers in one of 4 groups according to experience and ability. When you first drive with us, we'll place you in the group that's best matched to the high performance driving experience you indicate on your registration form and give you a check-out ride with an instructor. Beginning students always have a full day of instruction their first day and usually for a few events beyond.

We use letter-coded run groups. Here's the line-up:

Novice D
Intermediate 1 C
Intermediate 2 B
Advanced A

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Any refunds due under this policy will be issued as soon as practical after an event. It is the entrant's responsibility for preparing and bringing a vehicle meeting our technical requirements; if your car fails morning tech at the track and cannot be fixed, you cannot run and you won't get a refund.

  • Cancellation received before the registration closing date entitles the driver to a 100% refund, (less $10 payment system fee), or 100% credit to a future PNWR DE event within 12 months of cancelled event. If the credit is not used within the time allowed, or is again cancelled, no more than 50% (less $10 payment system fee) will be refunded
  • Cancellation received after the closing date, and up to four full days prior to the event, entitles the driver to a 50% refund (less $10 payment system fee) or 50% credit at a future event within 12 months of cancelled event. If the credit not used with the time allowed or is again cancelled, the fee will be forfeited.
  • No refunds or credits will be given if cancelled within three FULL days prior to the event, or a no-show.

Damage Policy

In the unlikely event that you are involved in a mishap, you may be billed for damage to track facilities and/or fire extinguisher recharging fees.
