Hello Everyone,
The summer is half over and all I can say is
“WOW!” we have had a lot of stuff happening. Every time I turn
around and think of the next weekend, we have an event occurring.
I tell my wife, “Sorry, the house work is going to half to wait.”
Needless to say, I can’t postpone the inevitable….We get stuck
doing it during the week.
The big event this month is, of course, the
Portland Parade. A large number of our members will be attending.
I am hearing that all the loose ends are getting taken care of and
that the event should be great.I hope PNWR members can
make a strong showing and bring home some bragging rights.
This will be Barb’s and my first Parade and we
are really looking forward to attending and having fun. We didn’t
get to attend the Boise Parade a couple of years back and we heard
all the great stories for several months. Now, we’ll get to attend
one and experience the mania for ourselves.
As a lot of us gear up for the Parade in
Portland at the
beginning of the month, we might not realize that there are other
activities throughout the entire month. Parade is only the first
week.
If you don’t get enough in Portland, or if you don’t attend the Parade,
there is an Autocross event on the 12th in
Bremerton. Coinciding
with the Autocross is a Women’s Driver Skills event on the other
half of the venue. This event keeps getting more popular every
time we host it.
At the end of August, on the 27th,
is the annual PNWR Summer Picnic. It will be held at the
Tolt-MacDonald Park in Carnation. It is pot-luck, so bring a
side dish and come on out!
Also, we are looking for a new Spiel Editor for
next year. If you are interested (or know somebody who might be)
let a board member know. This is a very important job in the
club.
In closing, remember to enjoy every sunny day
that we get this month and go driving! You never know when Mother
Nature might throw a tantrum.
