December 2006
Hello Everyone,
It is the beginning of December and most of our activities for the season have concluded. I've had a wonderful
time being President in 2006 and look forward to continuing in 2007. I would like to take this opportunity to
reflect on the past twelve months.
First of all, I'd like to thank the rest of the PNWR Board members who helped make this past year so much easier
from an administrative standpoint. Without their involvement, I don't believe we could have done so much. Such
events as the Kirkland Concour D'Elegance and the continuation of the award-winning Spiel came to pass because
board members made that extra effort.
Next, I'd like to thank all the Chairs and their respective committees for organizing and running events that make
this club so fun! There is so much work that goes into these events, no matter their size. Please take the time to
thank event organizers. They don't get enough credit.
Last, and probably most importantly, I'd like to thank the members of the club who are very friendly and warmhearted.
As Barb and I always say, "We came for the cars, but stayed for the people." This has never been more evident to us
than over the past year. Everyone has been very supportive and helpful as I tried my best to run the club. Without
everyone's support, the success of the past year wouldn't have been possible.
This month we have the 2007 Planning Meeting on the 2nd and our annual Holiday Dinner Party is on the 9th. Our
activities slow way down this month, but with the holidays arriving, I'm sure no-one is complaining too much.
Looking ahead to 2007 there are a lot of great cars coming. I see the new Targa has been released and is looking
very fast and sleek. All the new Targa models are all-wheel drive and based on the Carrera 4S platform. Ruf is
creating a version of the Cayman. Porsche will be launching its new version of the RS Spyder in the American Le
Mans Series. This new version is designed so more teams can compete with it. Plus, there will be four versions of the GT3!
Happy Holidays!
