2nd Annual Cayenne Forest Tour Category Tours Location Departure: Colman Ferry Dock Start 7/29/2012 7:30 AM End 7/29/2012 1:30 PM Description This year the Cayenne off-Road Tour is Going West. The tour will start at the Colman Ferry Dock for the 7:55 a.m. sailing to Bainbridge. (The July Spiel incorrectly listed the departure as Auburn Super Mall.) Upon arrival we will re-group at the McDonalds about 1 mile off the ferry dock. Then, we will head off on some great Porsche roads through Suquamish and picturesque Port Gamble. Crossing the Hood Canal Floating Bridge we will wind our way to Quilcene for our first break at the Twana Roadhouse Cafe. After the break we will go to the Mt. Walker Viewpoint (bring a jacket and your camera). This is our first “off-road” segment and the road is nicely graded, very hard-pack dirt, with paving in a few spots. The viewpoint is wheel-chair accessible. After Mt. Walker we will head south on Hwy 101 to The Ridge Motorsports Park for our second off-road segment. (The Ridge is dog-friendly but a leash is required – Logan found plenty of dog friends and dog lovers yesterday). This will be an OFF-ROAD / ON-TRACK segment. We will do 2-3 parade laps as a group. No helmets required for drivers, passengers or dogs. Lunch will be available for purchase at The Ridge and there is no entrance fee. The Ridge will be hosting an SCCA event so this should be a lot of fun. The tour ends at The Ridge (Return route driving instructions will be available). This is the second "annual" Cayenne Tour - please get this on your calendar. Last year several dogs participated in the First Annual Cayenne Off-Road Tour. Tour Leaders Miller Adams and Cheryl Roberts now have a new addition to their family, Logan - a Golden Retriever Rescue Dog. Logan is ready to go !!! Meet at the Colman Ferry Dock in Seattle for the 7:55 a.m. sailing to Bainbridge Island. Insurance waivers will be signed at the ferry dock prior to departure.
