PNWR's PERPETUAL AWARD RECIPIENTS FOR 2004
POTLATCH TROPHY
Recipient: Chris Downing
Pacific NW Region (PNWR) began it's tradition of Perpetual Awards thirty-one
years ago with the creation of the Potlatch Trophy. This trophy is
awarded to the Regional member who is the high scorer in one or more
multi-Regional events in 2004.
NOVICES OF THE YEAR
Recipients: Larry and Sherrel Nelson
As recent new members, Larry and Sherrel jumped in enthusiastically,
attending many events and Board meetings which led to chairing the
2005 Tour Committee.
THE DAVE FRY MEMORIAL CONCOURS AWARD
Recipient: Bill Rogers
As the right hand of Al Lanng's Concours Committee, Bill helped assure
the successes of 2004's Concours events, rain or shine.
THE DAVE SAID AUTOCROSS ENTHUSIAST OF THE YEAR AWARD
Recipient: Eric Fry
Eric personifies the spirit of PNWR autocrossers because of his energy
and unfailing good cheer at our local events. His attitude is a perfect
reflection of the man for whom this award is named, David Said. He
is both a fierce competitor and someone who would stay to help you
fix your car. He has done any work assignment asked of him and done
it to the best of his ability.
THE BILL MITCHELL ENTHUSIAST OF THE YEAR AWARD
Recipients: Emmett and Diane Koontz
Emmett was a Board member and interim Spiel ad manager but still found
time to participate in DE and Skills events. Diane attended virtually
every event as a major photographic contributor to Spiel and together
they led the Cannon Beach and Wine tours.
PNWR FAMILY OF THE YEAR
Recipients: The Downing family
The Downings have been attending and working Driver Ed, autocrossing
and Concours at Whistler, Rainbonnet and here at home. As the 2004
honorees, they represent the second and third generations of this PCA
family.
THE PERPETUAL PORSCHE PUSHER AWARD
Recipient: Dick Grant
This award was created in 1985 using the large pewter plate that was
presented to PNWR from Porsche AG (signed by Ferry Porsche) on the
occasion of the Region's 25th anniversary. It is awarded annually to
a member who has, over the years, contributed many hours and made contributions
of all sorts toward PNWR's successes.
THE ISABELLE GRANT MEMORIAL PNWR WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD
Recipient: Barb Coplen
This award recognizes in appreciation a woman who has contributed more
than her share toward the success of PNWR and it's events.
