Please mark and return these ballots before the November 25th deadline even though there is only one known candidate for each office at this time. Don't forget to include your membership number as we need it to verify eligibility to vote

Thank you,
The Nominating Committee

Candidate for President

DENNIS COPLEN

I have been a member of PNWR for five years. In that time I have spent many wonderful hours making new friends and enjoying the diverse activities of the club.
For the past year I have served as the club's Vice President, and would now like to serve as President. During my tenure I gained experience in club policies and operations and had the opportunity to work with PCA. I also gave members an avenue to gain rally experience with help from the Northwest Rally Council.
The current board has done a remarkable job solidifying the collaborative and accountable tradition of our club. If elected, I will continue this tradition to the best of my abilities. I would like to continue to give back to a club that has given me so much. As President, I would be committed to addressing the needs and requests of our membership.
With Parade in Portland next year, this is an exciting time for our club. We must be ready to give support to the Oregon Region.
While in college, I held officer positions in the largest club sport organization on campus. Professionally, I am a Web Systems and Database Administrator for Vulcan, Inc.

Candidate for Vice President

CARL SWAN

I saw my first Porsche when I was too young to drive. It was a two-seat aluminum sports car with silver paint. It was a new 550 Spyder. My first drive in a Porsche was in a 1964 356C. It was four years old at the time. I have pretty much been involved with and an owner of Porsches since 1976 when I bought my first 914 and joined PCA. During those years, I have been a member of four different PCA regions. As a member of PNWR for 10 years, I have participated in almost all of the club's different activities and have supported most. I have been Membership Co-Chair for the last 4 years, and an instructor for Driver Skills. My greatest enjoyment has been introducing newcomers to the many pleasures the club makes available to them. The driving and skills events have been especially rewarding. Having recently retired from traveling for a living, I look forward to spending more time with the club. More of a good thing can only be better.

Candidate for Secretary

BARB COPLEN

I am currently the secretary on the board of directors for PNWR and would like to continue to serve the club in this role for 2006. Having attended all of the meetings this past year, I submitted comprehensive minutes that were posted in the Spiel each month.
Last year one goal I had was to provide a more direct means of communication between the members and the board. To this end I set up email accounts for all of the directors and chair positions that made it easier to contact people in these roles. With this system, when a change occurs in these roles, the email to use will stay the same. I have also continued to send out the PNWR Update emails promoting events, notifying members about changes to the calendar and communicating club news.
If elected for a second term, I would look to continue these activities as well as look for other ways to promote communication within the club. 2006 brings the national gathering of PCA, the Porsche Parade, to Portland. This is an exciting event for Zone 6 and I believe that PNWR should look to support the Oregon region as needed.

Candidate for Treasurer

ERIC BREIDENBACH

I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve as Treasurer for our region. My involvement with the club has steadily increased and many of you know me as the Technical Education Chair and occasional tour leader. My background, both in education and experience, makes me well qualified for the Treasurer position. I have twenty four years of finance and accounting experience, including accounting, tax, audit, financial planning and treasury functions. I have held numerous senior financial positions in different business units including Chief Financial Officer, and Secretary-Treasurer for two large holding companies. Beyond this I have been General Manager for two business units and now have my own company with a partner. My undergraduate degree is in accounting from UW and I earned an executive MBA from Southern Methodist University. Underlying all this is a strong set of professional ethics.
If elected, I will faithfully carry out my duties and be an effective team member and officer. My predecessors have done solid work and I will maintain the high standards they have set.
Our region puts together a great mix of activities which my family and I have enjoyed. I expect to be an ever more active club member.

Candidate for Board Member at Large

STEVE DOWNING

A member of PCA/PNWR for 27 years, I have participated in autocross, driver's education, concours, rally, tours, driver skills, social events and technical education.
During the mid eighty's I served as Safety Chair for 2 years and assisted my wife, Mary, while she was Membership Chair. For the past 3 years I have served once again as the PNWR Safety Chair. For the past 16  years I have been a driver's education instructor and have also instructed a few times for driver skills. Mary and I along with our son, Chris, have been recipients of the PNWR Family of the Year three times.
We have attended 9 Porsche Parades, every Whister Weekend Event and many Rainbonnet Weekends. I look forward to giving back to the club that has been the source of so much fun for the entire Downing family. It would be my pleasure to serve as Member at Large for the 2006/2007 term.
